1. What is Skeletal System?

Ans: Skeletal System is the main structure of bones and cartilage.

2. How many bones are there in the human body?

Ans: There are 206 bones in the adult human body and 304 bones in the born baby.

3. Write the works of the skeletal system.

Ans: Works of the skeletal system.

         i) Protects the inside organs. ( brain, lungs, heart, etc )

        ii) Provide support for the body.

       iii) Produces red blood cells.

4. In which ingredients are made of bones?

Ans: Bones are made with calcium, phosphorus, collagen, and fibrous substance.

5. How do you know the better shape of the human skeletal system?

Ans: The better way to look at the human skeletal system is an X-Ray image of the human body.

6. Write the main four parts of the skeletal system?

Ans: Ribcage, backbone, skull, and limbs ( forelimbs and hindlimbs ).

7. How many bones are there in Ribcage?

Ans: There are 12 pairs of curved bones. They are attached to the sternum and backbone and the lower two pairs are attached only backbone.

8. How many bones are there in the backbone?

Ans: There are 33 bones in the backbone.

9. How many bones are in the skull?

Ans: There are 22 bones in the skull.

10. Write the functions of the skull.

Ans: i) Give shape to our face.

        ii) Protect our brain.

       iii) Lower jaw of the skull helps to talk.

11. How many bones are present in the forelimbs? Name them.

Ans: There are 60 bones in the forelimbs. ( both hands 30+30 ). Name - humerus, radius, ulna, carpals, metacarpals, and phalanges.

12. How many bones are present in the hindlimbs? Name them.

Ans: There are 60 bones in the hindlimbs. ( both legs 30+30 ). Names - femur, patella, tibia, fibula, tarsals, metatarsals, and phalanges.

13. What is Bone Marrow?

Ans: Bone marrow is gelatinous, mild tissue that fills the medullary cavities or the center of bones. Bone Marrow produces Red blood cells.

14. How do you make healthy and strong bones?

Ans: i) Daily exercise

        ii) Take proper nutrients (vitamins A and C )

15. What is cartilage?

Ans: Cartilage is a type of connective, flexible tissue that safeguards the body's joints and bones.

16. What are ligaments?

Ans: Ligament is a stretchable tissue that joins two bones tightly.

17. What are Tendons?

Ans: Tendons are fibers that attached bones and muscles.

18. What is joint?

Ans: A joint where two or more bones meet for movement.

21. How do muscles work?

Ans: Muscles work in pairs with contracting and relaxing.

Ex - Lift a substance - biceps contract, as the same time triceps relax.

22. Write the importance of good Posture.

Ans: i) Keep us healthy

       iii) Feel confident

23. How do you maintain good posture?

Ans: i) Sit straight 

        ii) Never bend 

       iii) Straight standing position with straight shoulder

24. How do you take care of bones and muscles.

Ans: i) Eat a proper diet ( rich in calcium and proteins ).

        ii) Take citrus food.

       iii) Do regular exercise.

25. Draw and label the human skeletal system.
