 1. What is health?

Ans: A position or condition of a living body without illness and injury is called health.

2. How many types of food are there?

Ans: There are two types of food -

        i) Veg food ( Vegetables, fruits )

       ii) Non-veg food ( Egg, fish, mutton )

3. What are the elements of food?

Ans: The elements of food are carbohydrates, proteins, fats, vitamins, and minerals.

4. What are nutrients?

Ans: The elements of food are together called nutrients.

5. What are Carbohydrates?

Ans: The nutrients in food that give power are called Carbohydrates.

6. From where do we get Carbohydrates?

Ans: From rice, wheat, potato, sugar, corn, etc we get carbohydrates.

7. What is protein?

Ans: The nutrients in food that develop body cells are called protein.

8. From where do we get protein?

Ans: We get protein from meat, eggs, pulses, and milk.

9. What are fats?

Ans: Fats are also more energy producers of nutrients.

10. Write down the sources of fats.

Ans: We get fats from butter, milk, ghee, cheese, cream, vegetable oil, milk, and dry fruits.

11. What are minerals?

Ans: Minerals are also essential elements of food that help to perform the development and function of the body.

12. From where do we get minerals?

Ans: We get minerals from vegetables, fruits, nuts, cereals, meat, fish, eggs, and seafood.

13. Why minerals are necessary for our body?

Ans: It is necessary for our body for these reasons -

        i) It makes turn the consuming food by us into energy.

       ii) It builds strong teeth and bones.

14. What are vitamins?

Ans: Vitamins are also the nutrients of the food that fight against the disease.

15. From where do we get vitamins?

Ans: We get vitamins from green vegetables, fruits, etc.

16. What is a balanced diet?

Ans: The diet which contains all nutrients in the right proportion is called a balanced diet.

Example - Milk, Hotchpotch.

17. How to make your diet healthier?

Ans: i) Add germinating seed ( sprout )

       ii) Milk and milk-product. ( curd, paneer, etc )

      iii) Fermented food.

      iv) Fresh fruits.

      V) Salad

18. What is food adulteration? Give example.

Ans: Low, impure substances mixed with food is called food adulteration. Adulterated food always harms our health.

Example - water in milk, dry papaya seed in black pepper.

19. How many types of diseases?

Ans: Two types of disease -

         i) communicable disease ( caused by viruses and bacteria )

        ii) non-communicable disease ( deficiency disease )

20. What is a deficiency disease?

Ans: A disease caused by less amount of nutrients in the diet is called deficiency disease.

Example - Night blindness - deficiency of vitamin A.

21. Make a table of deficiency disease with symptoms.

22. What is lifestyle disease?
Ans: A disease caused by improper lifestyle, or unhealthy eating habits is called lifestyle disease. Examples - Obesity, diabetes, etc.

23. Write some good healthy habits.
Ans: i) Before cutting fruits wash them properly.
        ii) Never overcooked or undercooked.
       iii) Preserve food in the proper way.

24. Write about obesity.
Ans: Obesity means fatty, nowadays it is a common problem for children and adults.
        Causes:- i) Eating junk food.
                      ii) Spicy and oily food.
                     iii) Lack of physical activity.
        Symptoms:- i) Gain weight.
                            ii) Lack of energy.
                           iii) Looking fatty.
        Prevention:- i) Eating a balanced diet.
                            ii) Avoid junk food.
                           iii) Do regular exercise.

25. Write about high blood- pressure.
Ans: High blood pressure means hypertension, it is also a lifestyle disease.
        Cause:- i) Stress, workload.
                     ii) Taking more salt.
                    iii) Lack of physical activity.
       Symptoms:- i) Headche.
                           ii) Sweating on low work.
                          iii) Dizziness
       Prevention:- i) Eating a healthy diet with low fat.
                           ii) Do regular exercise.
                          iii) Control body weight.

26. Write about Diabetes.
Ans: Diabetes means the level of more glucose ( sugar ) in the blood.
        Causes:- i) Lack of physical activity.
                      ii) Obesity
                      iii) Stress
        Symptoms:- i) Tiredness
                            ii) Frequent urine pass.
                           iii)  Weight loss.
        Prevention:- i) Eating a balanced diet with low sugar.
                            ii) Do regular physical exercise.
                  
27. Write the function of water in the human body.
Ans: i) Help to digest.
        ii) Control body temperature.
       iii) Remove waste through urine.
