1. How sound is formed?
Ans. Anything is vibrated sound is formed.
2. What is the unit of sound?
Ans: The unit of sound is decibel (dB).
3. How does sound propagate?
Ans. Sound propagates by wave through a medium (solid, liquid, gas).
4. What is a pleasant sound. Give example.
Ans. A sound that makes us happy is called a pleasant sound. 
     Example - kinds of music
5. What is an unpleasant sound? Give example.
Ans. A sound that makes us unhappy, irritated, or uncomfortable is called an unpleasant sound.
     Example - loud music, honking of vehicles
6.  What is a warning sound? Give example.
Ans. Some sounds are made for emergencies or awareness of danger is called warning sound.
       Examples- Police siren, Ambulance siren, Fire engine siren, and Fire alarm.
7. What is noise?
Ans: A loud unpleasant sound is called noise that makes physical and mental harm.
         Examples: Traffic on a busy road.
8. What is noise pollution?
Ans: Continuous and more noise that disturbs our mental and physical health is called noise pollution.
9. Write some harmful effects of noise pollution.
Ans: i) Loss of sleep and concentration.
        ii) Hypertension.
       iii) Dizziness, headache and stress.
10. How do you reduce noise pollution?
Ans: i) Avoid loudspeakers for too long.
        ii) Do not use horns unnecessarily.
       iii) Do not watch television loudly.
       iv) Plant more trees.
